It’s been a busy fall semester so far. I’ve started a part-time position in a public library, begun working on my master’s paper and am helping to coordinate a romance readers’ festival at another public library. All of this is wonderful experience (though maybe not the master’s paper), but it hasn’t left me much time to read.
At the moment I am slowly making my way through George R.R. Martin’s A Feast for Crows. I love the series, but I’ve been trying to get through this book since mid-September. Though my eye has started wandering towards other titles, I am not a promiscuous reader, and I am determined to finish it before I pick up another book.
There are a number of books (new and old) that I’m looking forward to reading this fall. Here are a few:
The Casual Vacancy by J.K. Rowling
The reviews haven’t exactly been glowing, but I’m curious about Rowling’s book for grown-ups.
Mr. Penumbra’s 24-Hour Bookstore by Robin Sloan
It’s a fantasy story set in a San Francisco bookstore. What’s not to love?
Swamplandia by Karen Russell
I know I’m way behind on this one. Blame grad school.
